Aircraft exams are OPEN BOOK and must be completed before your aircraft checkout. Access the applicable manuals and documents by clicking the Aircraft Information button on the Member Home Page or on CXO Mobile. Once you have completed the exam, a copy will be emailed to you. Retain this copy for presentation to your instructor at your aircraft checkout. Matagorda island

The CXO Flying Club owns a lot on Matagorda Peninsula granting us access to the private former AAF, Pierce Field - 72TA. The airfield is unmonitored and unkept other than what local landowners do to make it useable. All CXO Flying Club members have access to fly into 72TA and enjoy the beauty and solitude of a Texas Gulf coast barrier island. BEFORE operating to 72TA, members must view the slideshow and videos to complete the Matagorda certification. Click the button below to begin.
matagorda assault vehicle (MAV)
Several members have banded together and purchased a vehicle for use on Matagorda. This vehicle is not owned, operated or maintained by the CXO Flying Club. If you’d like to have unlimited access to the MAV, you must purchase a key ($200) from Rex Calvert - rcalvert100@gmail.com, 936-444-7402. Rex has provided an orientation slideshow for the MAV that can be view by clicking the button below and scrolling down to the presentation.
